Strathtyrum is a stunning house full of history, with a famous collection of furniture and portraits, and one the great golfing pictures in the world. 'The Golfers' was painted in 1847 and acquired from the artist, Charles Lees, by George Cheape of Wellfield. Family seat of the Cheapes of Strathtyrum since 1782, the estate owned the St Andrews' Links for the majority of the last century. Strathtyrum now provides outstanding accommodation for up to 11 guests, only two minutes by car from the first tee on the Old Course. Tim MacDowel and his staff will put you immediately at ease in this wonderful and historic house, a very special place to stay.
