The Hidden Scotland wouldn't be complete without one of the most romantic castles in the country. Balfour Castle was built in the 1840s and is a classic example of Victorian architecture. It has retained all its original features including gilded plaster ceilings, hand made wallpaper and marble mantlepieces.
